Delete your account

You can delete your Cerne account at any time, from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page explains what happens, and what to do if you no longer have the app installed.

From inside the app

1. Open Cerne and tap the gear in the top corner to open Settings.
2. Under Account, tap Delete account.
3. Read the notice and confirm. The app signs you out right away.

What happens next

• A 30-day grace period. If you sign in again with the same account within that time, the deletion is cancelled and your material comes back.
• After the 30 days we delete for real: the account, the synced copy of all your material (conversations, fragments, layers, revelations, letters, diary, practice notes, memories and highlights), the images, the voices and the profile photo.
• The numeric records of model usage and errors lose their link to your account and become anonymous. The safety alert marks are deleted.
• What is on your device is deleted when the app signs out. If you want to keep a copy, use Settings · Your data · Export everything first.
• An active subscription is not cancelled by deleting the account: cancel it in the App Store or Google Play, in your store account settings.

If you no longer have the app

Write to hello@cerneapp.com from the account's email address, with the subject "Delete my account". We confirm identity by the address itself and start the same deletion, with the same 30-day grace period. We answer within 15 days.

Delete only the material, and keep the account

That works too. Under Settings · Your data · Delete everything, the app deletes all your material from the device and from the synced copy, and the account keeps existing, empty.
